Marseille close to finalizing a deal for Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez is close to completing a move from Inter Milan to Marseille.

The Chilean striker mutually agreed to end his contract with Inter Milan and is about to start a new life in the south of France.

Marseille seems to be an extension of Arsenal with the love affair they’ve shown for players who have played for the Gunners. There has been a recent surge in the number of former Arsenal players that play for the French side.

Last season, William Saliba plied his trade with the Ligue 1 side and was not keen on returning to the Emirates unless he was guaranteed a starting berth. The maturity in his game is there to see, and he stands a chance of making the party for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Nuno Tavarez has also joined the club on loan, while Sead Kolasinac is one of many former Arsenal stars to be playing for Les Phocéens.

Meanwhile, another former Arsenal player is on his way to the French giants. After spending time at Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter Milan, Alexis Sanchez is heading to Marseille.

Sanchez to join Marseille

Inter Milan are pruning their squad as they prepare to challenge for the Scudetto this season and make a good impression in the Champions League. Part of the measures taken by the Milan side is the loan signing of Romelu Lukaku to spice up their attack. The Belgian could be at the club for the next two seasons.

Alexis Sanchez and the club agreed to terminate his Inter Milan contract and set him on the move again. According to reports, the 33-year-old is about to join Ligue 1 side Marseille after a spell in Italy that produced mixed results.

The arrangements for the Marseille move are already in top gear. The Chilean striker has agreed to personal terms with the French outfit and will sign a two-year contract with Marseille. According to The Mirror, all formalities by the two parties are good to go, with a deal expected in the coming days.

A reunion and return to the Champions League

Alexis Sanchez will be comfortable at Marseille following his relationship with former Arsenal players. He will combine with some Arteta rejects, including Mateo Guendouzi and Sead Kolasinac, who all play for Marseille.

Marseille are looking to challenge for the Ligue 1 title. Paris Saint-Germain have a stranglehold on the league, with some of the brightest stars football has seen.

Sanchez played regularly for Inter Milan under Filippo Inzaghi. He made 39 appearances for the Nerazzurri in all competitions last season, but they narrowly lost the league to AC Milan.

Despite his contributions to the Italian outfit, Sanchez and Inter Milan agreed the relationship was going nowhere and mutually terminated the contract.

Sanchez was part of the Inter Milan side that brought Juventus’ ten-year reign to an end as the Nerazzurri won the league, Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana two seasons ago.
